The Outpost

Outpost represents a creative and unique aspect to the RedCliff experience. Nestled on 160 acres, in the heart of RedCliffs operating area, the Outpost meets some very specific educational, therapeutic and safety needs.

As the only "In the Field" learning center in the industry, the Outpost is used to supplement the educational curriculum. Students are immersed in the natural sciences such as geology, botany and ecology. Students also learn some fun primitive skills such as creating natural cordage, basketry, stone tools, pottery, hide tanning and building moccasins & drums. Each of these activities takes place at a specific station within the 160 acres.

The opportunity the Outpost provides for therapeutic activities and intervention is also unmatched in the industry. Graduation ceremonies as well as family groups and activities all take place at the Outpost. There is a low ropes course that provides opportunity for initiative games and other experiential activities.

Safety of the students is always a top priority. The Outpost is on a centrally located piece of property that can offer shelter in inclement weather, as well as provide fresh water and shower facilities without disrupting the continuous flow of the program.
