RedCliff Ascent is a proud member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs.
Since Brat Camp premiered on ABC Family Channel, response to the program has been overwhelmingly positive. Former students have called us to express their thanks for the opportunity to "re-experience" the sense of accomplishment and pride they felt. Families of former students have requested copies of the program for personal viewing, using the program as a type of "video scrap book". Former students, with a few years of experience since graduation, have been inquiring about possible work at RCA. Parents have thanked us for our willingness to participate in the Brat Camp series, expressing gratitude that they now fully appreciate what their teen went through and what they accomplished. The pride and respect these parents feel for their teen is truly noteworthy.
We have had comments and calls of concern as well. There have been parents and students alike who have struggled through some very personal and intimate experiences in their families, with RedCliff being an integral part of that process. The airing of Brat Camp has understandably stirred strong feelings and emotions. RedCliff does it's best to provide a helpful and healthy environment for students to work on change. Not all students respond the same or take advantage of the opportunity to grow and improve.
We are saddened by some of what we see posted on the ABC Family Channel website message board. We appreciate those who have voiced their support for the cause of helping teens. We are most concerned by the youth who have taken over much of the message board and use it with vulgar comments, disinformation and lack of respect for others.
We would like to thank the parents for your trust, courage and confidence in us with your teens. We know the decision to seek help is not an easy one. Placing your student in any treatment program should not be entered into lightly. There should be many hours of research and investigation. We have gone to great lengths to make sure our website represents accurately our program specifics as well as culture. We hope our site is helpful.
Thank you for your consideration.
