At RedCliff Ascent, we never forget that we exist to help families. What is the Realistic Job Preview and why do you do it?
The realistic job preview, or “tryouts,” is the opportunity for candidates to see our field, become acquainted with our program and culture, and meet our students. It is not a training or an interview. Those still interested will have the opportunity to interview afterward.
We ask you to schedule 10 days for the preview. The first 6 are the actual preview. For those offered positions, 4 days of training and orientation follow. Some of the items we ask candidates to bring are not needed for the preview but will be for orientation.
Most of our staff relocate for this job; we don't want people to make a commitment and move their whole lives only to realize their first day in the field that this job isn't for them.
Even if you realize this isn’t a good fit, we highly encourage you to finish the preview. There’s value in choosing to finish what you start, and every candidate says that meeting our students, which happens the last couple days, is their favorite part.
