Kim, “Sunset Raven” graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor degree in Outdoor Leadership and Community Health and received her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Utah. She gained her love for wilderness therapy while working for Redcliff Ascent in 2002 and worked at Redcliff off and on through the years; she has worked with youth and young adults for the past 14 years. Her experience includes working in several wilderness therapy programs, residential programs, hospital inpatient therapy, interim drug treatment groups, DBT Clinic, foster care and children of military personnel. Kim also has 5 years of experience working with people with disabilities, including Autism.
In her free time she loves to run, climb, hike, swim, read and spend time with any of her 32 nieces and nephews, 9 siblings, dad, and friends. Kim lost her mom to cancer a couple years ago and was privileged to be able to care for her during her last few months and because of this experience she has gained a deeper appreciation for life, relationships and the power of compassion. She has a passion for coming to know the human condition and striving to understand the power and influence of the mind, body and spirit connection. Kim takes a holistic approach to therapy and is optimistic that having opportunities, such that wilderness therapy provide, can open eyes once dark and grim to a whole new beautiful world of understanding.
